Our Story

Jordyn’s Soul Café is a premier soul food restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. Owner Angel McDonald opened up this business in honor of her late daughter, Jordyn. Angel has been working in the restaurant industry for many years and has always had a passion for cooking. The recipes she serves at Jordyn's Soul Café are close to her heart and have been passed down by her mother. Angel is dedicated to providing her customers with delicious food that is made from scratch daily, using only the freshest ingredients. She takes pride in providing customers with quality service and ensuring that all dishes served are prepared with care and love. Angel created a space that is second to none in its ambiance, and our food is beautifully presented with artistic attention to detail. We are committed to providing you with the best possible experience while dining with us!

Our goal at Jordyn’s Soul Café is to provide great food that makes people happy and to serve our customers with dignity, respect, and compassion while working hard to provide them with an experience they will never forget. This is definitely a jewel added to the Hyde park area. Food was amazing and fresh, the wait for the food did take a bit longer but it was oh so worth it. Jaythan was an amazing waiter and I'm a waitress myself so I can definitely say he was a 10/10 just like the food. Also just to add one the music was amazing, lots of R&B and at a decent level where you can still have a conversation with whoever you're with. Will be back!!!!!

This restaurant is a must try out . The food is fresh and always arrives to my table nice and hot . My favorite setber is Mister Devin . They currently do not have liquor license. With that said they allow you to bring your own bottle. They will pour / mix your drink for you . My favorite are the Fried Green Tomatoes. The Mac and Cheese - Corn bread - sweet potatoes- broccolini-asparagus always serves me right . I have been here plenty times,,, and all my guests enjoys the atmosphere and Love the food the choose,,,, I am a vegetarian and very picky were I eat,,,, this place is worth the ride from downtown Chicago! Try them out today!
