Jordyn's Soul Cafe is a beloved Soul Food Restaurant located in Chicago, IL, serving up authentic Southern comfort food. Our Story
Jordyn’s Soul Café is a premier soul food restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. Owner Angel McDonald opened up this business in honor of her late daughter, Jordyn. Angel has been working in the restaurant industry for many years and has always had a passion for cooking. The recipes she serves at Jordyn's Soul Café are close to her heart and have been passed down by her mother. Angel is dedicated to providing her customers with delicious food that is made from scratch daily, using only the freshest ingredients. She takes pride in providing customers with quality service and ensuring that all dishes served are prepared with care and love. Angel created a space that is second to none in its ambiance, and our food is beautifully presented with artistic attention to detail. We are committed to providing you with the best possible experience while dining with us!
Our goal at Jordyn’s Soul Café is to provide great food that makes people happy and to serve our customers with dignity, respect, and compassion while working hard to provide them with an experience they will never forget. I visited Jordyn’s on Saturday with a reservation of 9pm. The food was great. I had catfish with greens and yams. I also tried the devil eggs. The drinks were top-tier. Tristan was our bartender and server. Wonderful soul, great hair and skin lol. I am going to definitely return with a few people!

In the heart of Hyde Park, this place is easy to find, right on 53rd street. The restaurant is cute, tastefully decorated, with plenty of seating. I thought the menu items were interesting because unlike most restaurants, the choices seemed so different from each other. I hope that makes sense. For instance, I had the crab fried rice ($30) and my cousin had the fried green tomatoes ($12). Items you typically won't see on the same menu. I really liked that. The food was really good, perfectly seasoned, and fresh. We also had drinks that were equally delicious. I thought the drinks were a little pricey, but they weren't skimpy and again very tasty. The staff was were very and attentive. We never had to ask for anything. Our waitstaff person checked on us regularly. She was very pleasant and kept a smile. This was my first time here, but definitely not my last.
