Jordyn's Soul Cafe is a beloved Soul Food Restaurant located in Chicago, IL, serving up authentic Southern comfort food. Our menu features classic dishes like fried chicken, mac and cheese, and collard greens, alongside unique creations. In addition to our dine-in experience, we offer catering services and a popular brunch menu. Come experience the flavors of the South at Jordyn's Soul Cafe.
As of February 2026 we are no longer accepting cash. All major credit/debit cards along with Apple Pay will be accepted. Automatic gratuity of 20% will be applied to all tables.
Our Story
Jordyn’s Soul Café is a premier soul food restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. Owner Angel McDonald opened up this business in honor of her late daughter, Jordyn. Angel has been working in the restaurant industry for many years and has always had a passion for cooking. The recipes she serves at Jordyn's Soul Café are close to her heart and have been passed down by her mother. Angel is dedicated to providing her customers with delicious food that is made from scratch daily, using only the freshest ingredients. She takes pride in providing customers with quality service and ensuring that all dishes served are prepared with care and love. Angel created a space that is second to none in its ambiance, and our food is beautifully presented with artistic attention to detail. We are committed to providing you with the best possible experience while dining with us!
Our goal at Jordyn’s Soul Café is to provide great food that makes people happy and to serve our customers with dignity, respect, and compassion while working hard to provide them with an experience they will never forget. At Jordyn’s Soul Café, you'll find a menu that features the freshest, most flavorful ingredients. Our grilled salmon is the best you'll ever have, while our fried chicken is so crunchy and delicious that you'll want to order some to-go! Our smothered wings are made of only the finest cuts of chicken, and our pork chops are full of flavor. We also offer delicious catfish and much more!

This place DID NOT disappoint! 🙌🏽🔥 I came in to celebrate my 33rd birthday, and when I tell you they made the experience worth it, I mean it!
At first, I was a little nervous because I originally planned to celebrate at Soul Vibez, but my party size was too large. However, from the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with a smile and immediately seated—even though our full party hadn’t arrived yet. I REALLY appreciated that because my mom was with me and she can’t stand for long periods of time. ❤️
Our waiter, Chris, took great care of us, and the FOOD?! BABYYYYY! 😭🔥 When I say AMAZING, I mean AMAZING! I honestly don’t have one complaint. Everything was worth every dollar spent.
I had the lamb chops with greens and mac & cheese, and OMMMMGGGG! 🤤 The lamb chops were seasoned to perfection, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. And those greens?! I had to double back and order TWO extra sides to take home! 😂🙌🏽
Whoever is back there in that kitchen is COOKING COOKING, okay?! 👏🏽🔥 I fell in love with this place!
If they keep up this level of food and service, I truly believe this will become one of the TOP restaurants in Chicago. 💯

While visiting Chicago, my wife and I went to the Obama Presidential Library. Amazing! We left and stumbled across Jordyn's Soul Cafe. I had the ox tails & grits (excellent). The grits was well seasoned. My wife had the catfish & potatoes. She said it was delicious. I tasted the potatoes, they were seasoned very well. I highly recommend this place.

Listen… Jordyn’s Soul Cafe in Hyde Park did NOT disappoint! 👏🏾👏🏾 Everything we ordered was GOODT! We had the lamb chops, beef short ribs, fried catfish, fried chicken wings, collard greens, mac & cheese, yams, sweet cornbread, and cranberry sauce. Baby… EVERYTHING was seasoned and cooked right! 😋
And let me talk about the drinks! 🍹 We had the Bob Marley cocktail and the mango margarita, and BOTH were on point! Definitely worth ordering. Thanks Shanni for the fire drinks!
The food was flavorful, the portions were good, and you could tell some love went into that kitchen. If you’re looking for GOOD soul food in Chicago, put Jordyn’s Soul Cafe on your list!
